CARPI – Five scholarships, a training course that began a few years ago and continues, and an increasingly close collaboration between the world of school and that of work. Tosi Gianmarco, Mazzoli Federico, Mazzarella Michele, Ferrari Alessandro and El Aloui Mohammed: these are the names of the students of the Da Vinci Technical Institute in Carpi who won the scholarships allocated by Centrum, a Carpi company leader in the security sector. On May 30th, the prizes were awarded at the school to the children of the 5AE and 5BE classes who worked on the “Perfect Living Community” project, excellence in industrial automation.

ITIS LEONARDO DA VINCI of Carpi is confirmed among the ten finalist schools at national level for Omron’s Smart Project 2024: a prestigious recognition that brought these young talents to the Ministry of Education and Merit in Rome on the 15th and 16th May where the most innovative, technological and educational project was chosen. The students’ commitment was as fundamental as the passion demonstrated daily by the school director, prof. Marcello Miselli, and by prof. Sandro Gualdi. But what makes “Perfect Living Community” so special?

The project includes the management and supervision through PLC and HMI of Omron, a leading international company, of typical city scenarios such as lighting, aqueduct, parking, level crossing and others. The modularity of this solution allows common buyers to customize and adapt scenarios based on their specific needs, ensuring lower energy consumption and optimal efficiency. But the real beauty of “Perfect Living Community” lies in the choral work carried out by the 5AE and 5BE students of the electronic automation department: by combining their skills and creativity, they developed over 12 different scenarios, demonstrating excellent collaboration skills and innovation. This project is not only a demonstration of technological excellence, but is also a testimony to the potential of young people in shaping the future of industrial automation, in fact “Perfect Living Community” presents itself as a tangible example of innovation and educational commitment. May 15th and 16th were not only days of competition, but also of celebration for the community of ITIS LEONARDO DA VINCI in Carpi and for all those who believe in the transformative power of technology and education.

Centrum is a reality that works in this direction, alongside young people and in support of schools with which it has finalized a now consolidated collaboration, with a view to the social responsibility that every company in the area should carry forward. For this reason, as Giacomo Ferraresi – general director – reiterates to us – in the new headquarters in Carpi a space dedicated to training will be set up, the “Centrum Academy”, where courses aimed at spreading the culture of safety will be organised, also in close collaboration with the institutes schools in the area.
