TERAMO. The former councilor Andrea Core leaves “Together we can” and joins the mixed group. Guarantees support for the mayor Gianguido D’Alberto, loyalty to the electoral program which allowed his re-election a year ago and denies every rumor that he is annoyed by the failure to assign a department with a view to reshuffling. The press conference of the now ex-prominent man of the majority civic list most represented in the council was based on these points: days ago Core had presented his resignation as group leader of Insieme We can no longer share the political line of the team that he himself he helped found to support D’Alberto. Yesterday, as was already in the air, came the farewell to the group and the transition to the mixed group in which there is already Alessio Di Egidiominority councilor and provincial secretary of Action.
«This decision is the result of a personal reflection and an internal discussion within the group that I have carried out in recent weeks: this formal transition to the mixed group is however a difficult and not simple choice, but one taken with serenity and the result of a journey. I no longer found myself in the political line of Together We Can and there were no longer the conditions for me to continue”, said Core, underlining in several passages his closeness to D’Alberto and the optimal stability of the relationship that binds them on a personal and politic. «I will remain firmly within the majority with an attitude of loyalty towards the mayor, without claiming anything on a personal level but with that freedom of thought that can be typical of a councilor who is no longer called upon to represent the main majority group» , added the councilor, underlining: «This new position of mine changes nothing with respect to the relationship with the mayor, on the contrary: as I no longer have to play a role of synthesis of the souls of Together we can, my relationship with the mayor can be more direct and frank in the always good for the administration and the city.”
Core’s decision is part of a phase that the councilor himself defined as “complex” for the majority and for D’Alberto: a transition phase that opened with the election in the Region of Giovanni Cavallari, former councilor for public works, and who is waiting to land somewhere. A reshuffle? A simple replacement of the new regional councilor? A redistribution of delegations? It is not known, because if at first the council reshuffle seemed the most concrete hypothesis, the passing of the weeks, the internal frictions and the Core factor have evidently pushed D’Alberto towards different reflections. However, the mayor does not say anything about what the next scenarios are. Yesterday he was also present at the press conference but preferred not to intervene either on Core’s choice or on the timing and methods of the reshuffle. He limited himself to saying that any decision will come after the local and European elections and not to be in a hurry. For Core «the triggering cause of my choices is absolutely not the reshuffle, I hope that the government team will be strengthened as soon as possible and I will continue to stimulate the majority on this because we cannot get stuck in discussions that recall a sad past: this does not it is the horizon that this community deserves.”
While we wait for Together to indicate the name of the new group leader, the role goes to the councilor based on seniority Lanfranco Lancione.
