An arrest and a complaint in Carpi: the drug-sniffing dog Jago Current affairs

The Carpi State Police arrested a 26-year-old Bangladeshi citizen and reported another 49-year-old, both for the crime of possession for the purpose of trafficking of narcotic substances. Yesterday afternoon, the men of the Carpi police station, with the help of an anti-drug dog unit of the State Police, carried out an extraordinary service aimed at preventing and combating drug dealing. During the activity, checks were carried out at two food shops in the city centre. “In the business owned by the 49-year-old – reports a note from the Modena Police Headquarters – several wrappers packaged in aluminum and film containing narcotic substances such as cocaine and hashish for a total of 63 grams were found and seized, in addition to the cash sum of 810 euro, probable proceeds from the drug dealing activity”.

“Inside the shop owned by the other suspect, the drug-sniffing dog Jago smelled, allowing him to find, a hashish-type narcotic substance contained in three separate wrappers of 3 grams each, as well as 290 euros in cash hidden inside a purse of the 26 year old, considered probable proceeds from the drug dealing activity”. The Police then carried out – again with the help of the drug-sniffing dog – house searches on the northern outskirts of Carpi in search of further doses of drugs.
