CASERTA/AFRAGOLA – Today, the Carabinieri of the Caserta Company executed a coercive measure order issued by the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, at the request of this Prosecutor’s Office, against a person resident in Afragola. The crime in question concerns the armed robbery committed by three individuals on the evening of 09.20.2023 against a tobacconist located in Caserta.

The precautionary custody order constitutes the epilogue of a complex investigative activity started immediately following the facts, coordinated by this Prosecutor’s Office and conducted by the Carabinieri of the Caserta Company, both with telephone interception activities and with targeted observation services and shadowing, thanks to which valuable information was acquired which, also thanks to the information connection between the various commands of the Carabinieri present in a widespread manner “in the territory, made it possible to trace the identity of one of the perpetrators.
There were three bandits with their faces covered and guns in their hands who burst into the business demanding the owner to hand over the cash register. The business owner did not resist and gave what was requested to the criminals who then fled on board a Fiat Stilo.
The investigations, in particular, made it possible to reconstruct the exact criminal dynamics. In particular, one of the two subjects was responsible for obtaining the weapons and the vehicle used for the robbery, registered to a frontman, while the others materially contributed to the commission of the crime.
Today’s operation represents yet another result achieved by this Prosecutor’s Office and the Carabinieri in combating the phenomenon of predatory crimes.
It should be noted that the proceedings are in the preliminary investigation phase, that the person under investigation is to be considered innocent until a final sentence is reached and that the precautionary measure was adopted without the cross-examination that will take place before the third-party Judge who may also assess the absence of any form of liability on his part.
