“Seminare Bellezza“, at Carrara reduced entrance for residents of Bergamo and beyond

Bergamo. Conceived by Accademia Carrara in 2023, “Seminare Bellezza” continues in 2024, with the aim of further consolidating the relationship between the museum, the city and the province thanks to the support of the Humanitas Gavazzeni and Castelli hospitals.

All residents of Bergamo will be able to benefit from the reduced entrance fee until the end of 2024 (€8, instead of €15), and so will the citizens of Scanzorosciate, Clusone, San Pellegrino thanks to the participation of the individual Municipalities.

“Seminare Bellezza” continues to include the installation of urban design flowers both in Bergamo and in some centers, as a point of attraction and cultural promotion. The flowers, in addition to embellishing and coloring the squares, through a QR code printed on one of the petals, direct to in-depth content and curiosities about the works of the Carrara collection. Thanks to the contribution of Humanitas, two flowers have been placed in Bergamo: in via Zambonate and at the Gavazzeni hospital.

Humanitas Gavazzeni and Castelli and Accademia Carrara

In 2018, the collaboration between Humanitas Gavazzeni and Castelli and Accademia Carrara began. From here, the projects La Cura e la Bellezza and Opere in Parole were born. Today, over 1200 square meters of maxi-format details of Carrara paintings adorn the two hospitals and “speak” through the words and voices of 12 authors of Italian culture who were inspired by the museum’s masterpieces to create unpublished writings dedicated to patients. At the base of this initiative, a new challenge of Humanitas, beyond therapy: to tell and experience in a new way the nature of the hospital – care, innovation, research, university – and the human experience in the face of illness through beauty, with its disruptive power capable of generating emotions.

Humanitas is present in Bergamo with the Gavazzeni and Castelli hospitals and the Humanitas Medical Care medical center. Humanitas Gavazzeni is internationally known for its great tradition in cardiovascular surgery and oncology. In accordance with this vocation, in 2019 a robotic cardiac surgery program was launched, one of the few in Europe. In the city, Humanitas is also university training and research, to bring the most advanced knowledge to the patient’s bedside: Humanitas University is in fact present with the Degree course in Nursing created in close collaboration with the hospital.
