Summer has begun and for many the time for holidays has arrived (or is arriving).

For those planning a trip to Milan, London or near Basel – or why not, live near these cities – here three unmissable exhibitions dedicated to design to visit in the coming months.

Milan Triennial – Gae Aulenti (1927-2012)

The Milan Triennale hosts a large retrospective dedicated to the famous and multifaceted designer Gae Aulenti (1927-2012): no doubt one of the most representative figures of contemporary architecture and design.

Graduated in architecture at the Polytechnic of Milan (1953), in her sixty-year career Gae Aulenti has touched numerous fields: from urban-scale design to exhibition design, from landscape architecture to interior design, from furniture design to graphics and the theatrical scenography. She signed, among other things, numerous projects and objects that have become iconic over time.

In the exhibition, his figure, his work and his way of drawing and designing are told through an installation made up of different 1:1 scale environmentsbuilt with original materials preserved in the architect’s archive.

London Design Museum – Barbie: The Exhibition

Not to be missed if you are planning a trip to London, the exhibition “Barbie: The Exhibition” in calendario al London Design Museum. And, again, the first dolls designed to reflect today’s multicultural and diverse society, including the first Barbie with Down syndrome and the first with a curvy body, and the many objects of her enormous universe, including houses, vehicles and infinite accessories.
