Appointment with the young reporters of the Fara Filiorum Petri comprehensive institute this afternoon, Monday 3 June, at 3 pm at the Palafara for the presentation of the Fara Green Board. The students of the fifth primary, first and second class of the lower secondary school of Fara Filiorum Petri will present the second edition of their school newspaper, in which they talk about information and mass media, both traditional and social media.

The round table between students, experts and families aims to raise awareness of the right way to inform and get informed by establishing a positive and constructive dialogue that starts with the children.

The head teacher of the Fara Filiorum Petri Comprehensive Institute, Liliana De Vincentiis, will participate in the socialization; the mayor Camillo D’Onofrio; the commander of the Rapino Carabinieri station, Giovanni Del Duca; the president of the Journalists’ Association, Stefano Pallotta; the television journalist Gigliola Edmondo and the journalist Loris Zamparelli. The print journalist, Francesco Cioce and the war reporter, Federica Iezzi also intervened during the project.

There are 48 students involved in the journalism project and, during the school year, they experimented with writing techniques and a first approach to the newspaper article, as well as having explored the proposed themes in depth with the experts who attended. “This is a project that our school has been giving importance to for several years, and which aims to sow questions and curiosity in the children about the events that happen around us” explained the teachers.

In the first edition of Fara Green Board, the young people created a journalistic product on their country, researching aspects and news on Fara Filiorum Petri, based on the experience they had with the FAI when last October, they took on the role of guides in their town, allowing the many tourists who flocked to discover the beauty of the place.

In the second issue, the attention of budding journalists shifted to communication and its rules. The children recounted their experiences and dialogues with the communication experts who intervened during the project, but also many curiosities and insights into the means of disseminating news.

The meeting is open to all. Starting from Monday 3rd, it will be possible to browse the Fara Green Board by connecting to the institutional website of the Fara Filiorum Petri Comprehensive Institute.
