VIGEVANO – The intervention of the Vigevano Carabinieri which yesterday, Monday 3 June 2024, they have a 48 year old man arrested who first tried to kill his neighbor and then attacked his relatives by trying to break down the door.
It all started at 6.15pm, when, due to previous disagreements with the neighbour, the man with a CZ MOD. 24, illegally detained, has fired multiple shots at the 56-year-old, resident on the upper floor. The victim, although injured in the head, still managed to escape, however chased by her 48-year-old fired more shots without reaching him. At that point, still blinded by anger, the attacker reached the upper floor, threatening to kill the victim’s entire family, and, with the use of a heavy bricklayer’s hammer, tried to break down the door of the house where his wife, two daughters and four-month-old granddaughter were present. The Vigevano soldiers then reached the building and surrounded the area in a few minutes, assisted by NOR – Radiomobile Section personnel, who were the first to intervene on site together with the local Public Security Police Station, also interrupting traffic in Via Gravellona as a precaution .
The 48-year-old, now surrounded, then took refuge in the courtyard and asked to speak to a soldier from the Operations Unit he knew, refusing to deal with anyone else. The arrival of the superintendent, free from duty and specially arrived on site, allowed the situation to be resolved in a short time, avoiding prolonging the negotiations. In fact, the attacker quickly surrendered without further resistance. Staff from the operational section carried out investigations on the site of the event, finding the aforementioned weapon, two shell casings and seven unexploded rounds of the relevant caliber, found on the road surface, and one round still inserted in the magazine. All the material found was seized. The victim of the incident, transported under code red to the “San Matteo” polyclinic in Pavia, is not in danger of dying and has been discharged with a 21-day prognosis. Arrested, at the end of the formalities, he was taken to the Pavia prison.
