Inconveniences due to summer bus timetables: a user turns to the Tuscany Region and the Municipality of Lucca with a letter sent by email

“I highlight the discomfort regarding the summer timetables of Tuscan bus lines. Every year after school there is a drastic reduction of public connections with the first suburbs of Lucca, despite paying the annual urban route pass. It must also be said that not all children finish school on June 10th, considering various exams and internships that the children themselves find themselves facing. We do not believe it is right that the public service should be reduced after the school period, as it is precisely after this period that users go out more resulting in greater use of public servicesbut these kids, and not only them, regularly find themselves not having to go out, stay on foot or use a private car because the service hours are drastically reduced”.

“We are talking – continues the letter – of the first suburbs of Lucca (lines 59 and 61, but it will be the same for others) and it is scandalous and shameful that 3 kilometers from the city there is no adequate public service. This system strongly discourages the use of public transport by users who in doing so are forced to opt for the use of private transport, achieving exactly the opposite of what the public service should aim for.. The evening timetable should also be extended, at least on weekends until midnight, and given the possibility, given the reduction in timetables, to use the same urban pass as the extra-urban buses that travel on the urban routes, for example the Lucca Saltocchio route which being extra-urban it passes from San Pietro to Vico via Brenner”.
