Yesterday morning the Undersecretary of Culture Lucia Borgonzoni visited the ‘City of Cinema’. Accompanying the Bolognese senator in the spaces of the Florestano Vancini film art school, inside the former fire station, was the founder Stefano Muroni. Also present was MP Davide Bergamini, mayor of Vigarano Mainarda. The visit was an opportunity to reiterate the commitment of the Ministry of Culture to actively support its growth and ended with an important announcement by the undersecretary.

“After hearing about it for a long time as a cultural construction site of excellence, I finally had the pleasure of visiting some of the environments that host the ambitious project set up by the association ‘Ferrara La Città del Cinema’ and to savor the spirit that gave rise to the idea: on the one hand, a boundless love for the seventh art, on the other a strong attention towards an extraordinary land, which boasts a long tradition linked to the audiovisual I believe that the efforts made so far by the team that animates the supply chain with passion and commitment – a real center of attraction in the Region, which today has 200 children enrolled in the school – deserve applause and all our support so committed in the area for the growth of the local community and beyond. Students from all over Italy arrive in Ferrara, taking their first steps in the world of cinema and discovering its secrets and professions. Many of tomorrow’s professionals start right here, from schools like this.”

“Training of young people, film production and promotion – continued the undersecretary – represent the beating heart of the great machine that drives ‘The City of Cinema’ and more generally are among the main actions to be implemented to guarantee the film industry Italian company to continue to develop and conquer new markets, expanding on an international scale”.

In support of her important activity, the senator announced on the sidelines of the visit, “200 thousand euros will be allocated this year. This is just the beginning. The objective is to be able to guarantee structural financing”. And speaking of announcements, the undersecretary anticipated that among the projects that will be carried out in the province in the near future, one will also involve the Municipality of Vigarano Mainarda: 2025 will in fact mark one hundred years since the birth of the artist Carlo Rambaldi.
