Sticchi Damiani’s statements

Xavier Sticchi Damianipresident of Lecce, was interviewed in today’s edition of TGR Puglia. These are his words on the future of the Giallorossi:

Planning for the future

We always plan, planning is the only tool we have to be able to face high-level opponents. We try to respond to the characteristics of the other teams with detailed planning.

The guidelines for this season have already been established for some time, it is clear that there are things still to be established, but we are leaving for this training camp with a team that has done so well and we would like to reconfirm it as a whole.

The future of Lecce with Gotti?

We will start again with Gotti because he did an excellent job. Since his arrival the team, which was in great difficulty, played well and achieved an important points average, until they achieved safety with three games to spare. It is a deserved salvation on the pitch, it is clear that a minimum amount of caution is needed here too.

Luca Gotti

What is missing is a final discussion with the technical area to see if the vision on a sporting level is shared: if so, we will start again together with enthusiasm. Regarding the contractual aspects, everything is already defined.

Yesterday, late in the evening, the president published a consideration on his social channels following the promotion of Venezia, which allowed the definitive list of participants in the 2024-25 Serie A championship to be drawn up:

Parma, Como and Venice (congratulations!), three northern cities, three foreign properties, move up to Serie A. Serie A is now mostly an expression of “foreign clubs” and with Lecce the only team under Naples.

He then continued:

We are doing, together with our people, something that is in total contrast to modern football and feeling almost like “intruders” is the greatest incentive to justify any effort to be there anyway, in our own way…
