Last June 28, in the presence of the press, an important agreement signed between Cai La Spezia and “Navigazione Golfo dei Poeti” was made public, with the participation of the President of Cai La Spezia, Alessandro Bacchioni and the President of Cai Liguria, Roberto Manfredi by the President of the Navigation Consortium Rudy Biassoli, by Giuseppe Menchelli, Director of Confartigianato La Spezia which will cover 2024 and future years.
Thanks to this agreement, which sees Navigazione supporting the CAI La Spezia as a sponsor, starting from July 1st important news awaits all members of the Italian Alpine Club, of every Italian section, who wish to explore the Gulf of La Spezia by hiking.
In fact, all members with a valid membership card will be able to access discounts on the fares of Line 01 – Golfo della Spezia, which gives access to the following landing places: Tellaro, Lerici, San Terenzo, La Spezia, Cadimare, Fezzano, Le Grazie, Porto Venere, Palmaria (Terrizzo and Pozzale) and, consequently, to a long list of paths, such as: from Levante to Ponente, the 439; the 433 and the 461; the Liguria San Terenzo/Lerici Path, the 413; the 512 and the 529; the 519; the 510; the Alta Via del Golfo (AVG).
«The intention is to encourage the use of our carriers to reach the villages and places overlooking the Gulf of Poets and thus move along an extensive path network, the one that exists between the landing places, proposed, in this way, as integrated elements of mobility. It will be possible to reach one of the locations on Line 01 – landing place A, walk to landing place B and return to La Spezia. For the island of Palmaria, follow the circular route until it is completed or follow it partially up to the intermediate landing place. The ‘Paths within reach of the sea’ hiking experience begins even before reaching the landing place from which you will enter the trail network. It starts on board, while you cross the Gulf of Poets in the open air sailing, so you can explore the panorama of the coast with your eyes and prepare the excursion”, says Rudy Biassoli President of the Navigation Consortium.
Furthermore, the agreement will strengthen the collaboration between Navigazione Golfo dei Poeti and Cai La Spezia also with regard to its calendar of activities.
The event, which took place on board the Motonave Riomaior at 10.30am, near the Morin promenade, gave the opportunity to underline the importance of promoting the Gulf of La Spezia from the point of view of slow and conscious tourism, and in the direction of an increasingly strong inclusion of fragile people and people with disabilities.
In this regard «we would like to propose a virtuous model of synergy between the Third Sector and the Private sector», says Roberto Manfredi, President of Cai Liguria to which Alessandro Bacchioni, President of Cai La Spezia adds: «this initiative will lead to frequenting those paths perhaps less known but equally beautiful, adopting a perspective of environmental protection and development that lightens the anthropic load on the most well-known routes. Much attention will be paid to different abilities by indicating the ‘paths for all’. A precious collaboration, with great potential, which we believe can also be taken up by other entities.”
The project sees Navigazione Golfo dei Poeti supporting the associative activities of Cai La Spezia regarding the development of routes reachable from the sea, with a view to inclusiveness and protection of the territory and was born with the hope, in the coming years, of consolidating with further proposals.

It is understood that all CAI members residing in the Province of La Spezia will continue to benefit from the special rates dedicated to residents.
