The Cuneo Students’ Union launches the Used School Book Market

The Cuneo Students’ Union announces the opening of the Used School Book Market, an initiative that aims to mitigate families’ school expenses and promote a guaranteed right to study. The market will be divided into two main phases: the collection and distribution of books. In the two weeks following the end of the school year (from 10 to 21 June) it will be possible to donate or sell used school books (all those on the list of books for the following school year will be accepted). The distribution will take place on 22, 23, 26 and 27 August and in the first week of September to guarantee students affordable school supplies.

The promoters explain: “This initiative was born from the awareness that an average family spends around 1,300 euros a year on a student’s school supplies. With the Used School Book Market, we want to alleviate this economic burden and contribute to making the right to education truly accessible to everyone. The objective is also to strengthen the sense of community and mutual help between students, their families and citizens“.

To participate, simply bring your used books to the Spazio Varco in Cuneo: “We thank in advance all those who want to participate and support this project, the students and parents who are already spreading the word and the Spazio Varco for hosting the initiative“.

The hours will be from Monday to Friday, from 2.30pm to 5pm, Tuesday and Friday from 2.30pm to 4pm. At least two student volunteers will always be present for both collection and distribution.
