Pescara. There are two rescue vehicles that from until August 31 will guarantee safety along the almost 13 kilometers of coast of the province of Pescara.
The “sea ambulances” are in service throughout the summer season thanks to the initiative promoted by the provincial SIB (Italian Beach Resort Union) with Life Pescara ODV and the collaboration of the Pescara ASL and the Municipality, and represent a valuable service for the safety of citizens and tourists.
New this year, wanted by the ASL of Pescara, the presence on board of a nurse in addition to the volunteer staff. The objective of the project, explained the general director of the ASL True Michitelliis to “make a major contribution to safety through two rescue vehicles that strengthen the existing 118 territorial stations and that will guarantee a timely and professional response for the territory”.
“The presence of a nurse on board – adds the Director of the Emergency Department Aurelio from the Leftor – that is, a highly professional figure, will allow us to manage any emergency and time-dependent pathology, but also to address minor health needs, in order to limit overcrowding in the Emergency Room”.
“A project whose costs are being covered by the union itself,” he specified Richard Paduan of the Sib- and whose operation “will allow us to optimize response times by supporting 118 and all the associated associations that I thank, in a particular period of the year, where requests for intervention increase considerably”.
