The guided tour of the monumental cemetery of Forlì was a success. It ended yesterday, June 2, with enthusiastic participation of the public, the cycle of three spring events of the “All’Ombra dei Cipressi” project . This last visit was part of the European Cemeteries Week, an initiative promoted by the Emilia-Romagna Region to strengthen the cultural and historical importance of these places of memory.

During the event, the president of Confguide Forlì-Cesena, Giuseppe Verrelli, shared with the participants stories and anecdotes regarding the generous benefactors of Forlì. The visit was enriched by in-depth analysis of funerary monuments of particular importance, not only for their historical and artistic value, but also for the fascinating nature that surrounds them, taking up the theme promoted by the European initiative “Art and Nature in the city of silence”.

On the occasion of Republic Day, the route included a highly significant stop at the tomb of the patriot Aurelio Saffi, leading figure of the Italian Risorgimento. This moment represented a fitting tribute to one of the protagonists of our national history, underlining the importance of remembering and celebrating the roots of the Italian Republic.

The enthusiastic response from the participants confirmed the growing interest in cultural initiatives that enhance the historical and artistic heritage of the city. Yesterday’s event successfully concluded the series of spring visits, paving the way for new summer events that will be announced shortly, to continue to raise awareness and appreciate the local historical testimonies.
