A very clear message, aimed first and foremost at the players who will embrace the Pistoiese project but also at the other teams that will fight for the championship. Yesterday morning, at the Nursery Campus, the first official outing of the new orange sports director took place, who illustrated the technical and sports project for the 2024/2025 season. At the base, as mentioned, the desire to compete for the title and to bring the Pistoia square back to a much more suitable category, sweeping away the memories of the last two years.
“We know the difficulties of Serie D well – says Taibi – and we know that only one team will win, but we shouldn’t leave anything to chance. Taibi then told what pushed him to choose Pistoiese over other proposals, also coming from professionalism: “From the first phone call with Iorio I perceived the greatness of the project. As for team building, a significant part of the work has been done. Domenico Giacomarro will be the new coach, while many agreements – albeit only verbal – have already been reached with the players. For all the official documents it will be necessary to wait until July 1st, but the first important steps have been taken. “We were looking for a winning profile – underlines Taibi – and Giacomarro was right for us. We have already blocked twenty players and to complete the squad we will have to reach twenty-five. Three of these come from Aglianese, don’t give up for a sense of continuity with the old team , which doesn’t exist, but only because we considered them suitable profiles for our philosophy. I always build the team in mutual agreement with the coach, who has made his requests and I will try to satisfy him as much as possible.
