He hits a cyclist and runs away, 26 year old in trouble
In the late afternoon of Saturday 22 June 2024shortly after 6pm, a serious accident occurred in Pavia and the responsible comes from province of Lodi. While he was riding his bicycle along Via Indipendenza, a 64 year old man was hit by a moving car that did not stop for help by running away.

Immediately helped by some passers-by, the 64-year-old was transported under yellow code to the San Matteo Polyclinic where he was diagnosed with head trauma and several bruises. The driver of the car, one 26 year old young man resident in Sant’Angelo Lodigianodid not stop to help and fled.

There Local Police of Paviawhich intervened promptly at the scene of the accident, immediately started investigations by collecting the testimonies of those present and analyzing them images from surveillance cameras in the area. It was not the driver who called for help but some passers-by who, witnessing the scene, saw the car speed away.
Thanks to the speed of reporting and the efficiency of the video surveillance system, the agents are managed to quickly get back to the car and, subsequently, the identity of the driver. The decisive turning point came on the afternoon of Monday 24 June when the agents identified the alleged perpetrator.
This is a girl of Romanian origins resident in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano. One was triggered against the 26-year-old reported in a state of freedom for negligent road injuries, failure to provide aid and escape from the scene of the accident. The images from the cameras and the testimonies of those who witnessed the accident proved fundamental in solving the case.
