Sacred music with the students of the IIS Machiavelli

The choir of the Machiavelli Institute of Lucca presents a journey of sacred music, from the Gregorian to the 20th century, Tuesday 4 June at 9pm at the parish of San Giovanni Battista in Montuolo. A final end to the school year with the sound of music thanks to the students of IIS Machiavelli, the city’s high school which also includes a student choir among its ranks. The choir was born as an extracurricular school-work alternation project (now PCTO) in 2016 and is directed by prof. Maestro Marco Musto. It is currently made up of 40 members (students of the Institute, joined by a small component of former students) and deals mainly with Sacred Music. After the post-pandemic recovery, he participated in the Lucca Classica Festival in the 2023 and 2024 editions; accompanied the inauguration mass of the UCAI exhibition on 14 February 2024 in San Cristoforo and at the Sacred Music exhibitions organized by the Airc in Diecimo (2023) and Loppia (2024). In the past spring he also took part in the first Tuscan school choirs festival, held for the province of Lucca at the Mazzarella auditorium.

The concert will be repeated in Marina di Pisa on 7 June 2024 in the M. Ausiliatrice parish.
