These are some of the topics at the center of the Board of Directors of Coldiretti Terni held yesterday after that of Perugia in recent days.
A series of issues – he underlines Dominga Cotarella President of Coldiretti Terni – also emerged from the constant discussion with the members which culminated with the meetings of 30 April and which must be resumed in June. In the foreground are the historical priorities, from the ban on wild boars, to the request relaunched with the mobilization from Brenner, for the mandatory indication of origin throughout Europe for which signatures are being collected. The plague of wild boars continues to represent one of the major obstacles to their activities for all farmers; a priority – explains Cotarella – on which we strengthen our commitment with concrete actions to avoid the risk of abandonment of many realities that show us their desperation every day.
In the Council, with the management, we also reviewed our protagonism for the results obtained with the Agriculture Decree, from the debt moratorium to the stop to photovoltaics on agricultural land, from the simplification of the legislation against unfair commercial practices to aid for supply chains which are implemented with measures for fruit and vegetables and wheat. Naturally – adds Cotarella – at the center of our appointment could not be missing an examination of our proposals in view of the administrative and European elections, in which we intend to relaunch the role of farmers and the multifunctionality of the sector, for sustainable economic development, also at a tourism level , but also at the service of the community and for the protection of the territories. The formation of individual consultations for the various sectors and the problems and prospects of the various supply chains were among the other topics covered.

In short, especially in this particular situation characterized by increased costs, inflation and international tensions – concludes Rossi – we need to increase our efforts to support the agricultural sector in every way, central as it is for the entire local economy and strategic also at the of attractiveness and relaunch for many more marginal areas of our region, where there are various agricultural businesses that are heavily affected by the great difficulty of the moment.
