Last beats of the electoral campaign in Cesena in view of the municipal elections on 8 and 9 June. The deputy mayor and councilor for public works Christian Castorri issues a note, who is a candidate with the Cesena 2024 civic list in the centre-left coalition. Castorri states: “I will support Enzo Lattuca, with whom in these five years I have shared every moment of administrative activity. The Covid experience immediately led us to establish a close relationship, which during the mandate, among the many activities , allowed us to make the most of the opportunities of the Pnrr and to manage a terrible event like the flood with clarity and determination. For the future, I want to continue to convey how sporting activity has become in all respects a fundamental service both for families, but above all for all our citizens whatever their age. For this reason it must be supported even more strongly through the strengthening of some services, starting with transport which they have to go to play sports: it would also help them to get to know the city more and better, living it to the full, seeing the place where sports are practiced also as a meeting space. I am convinced that we need to work and start serious projects to make the city’s parks like real gardens: always well maintained and equipped with infrastructure that keeps up with the times.”
Castorri continues: “Enzo Lattuca is our Mayor and the candidate for Mayor that I will support with all my being because in the five years of his first mandate – characterized by two emergencies, Covid and the flood – he has proven to be a responsible, capable Mayor to make courageous and right decisions when it mattered most. His leadership has instilled confidence in citizens – which we have also seen first-hand in this election campaign – and has been able to transform moments of crisis into opportunities to strengthen our sense of community”.
It is then stated that “Cesena 2024, with a pragmatic political action – which began 10 years ago – has tried to interpret, in the Council and in the City Council, the feelings and wills of the people of Cesena, creating a synthesis and avoiding the populism towards which they slide very often civic formations have never been and will never be against someone or something, but for something that – possibly – contributes to the growth of our city, we will continue to do our part to bring it to fruition with success the numerous interventions activated on schools, sports facilities, roads and parks, which will allow Cesena to renew and innovate in the coming years. We will not spare ourselves, I will not spare myself because we feel the responsibility to make our city grow and improve , where I live with my family”.
“In a city that speaks to young people and families, we will commit ourselves – as the city’s political interlocutor of reference for the sporting world of Cesena – to complete the renovation of the city’s sports facilities, in addition to the many maintenance works carried out on the various facilities, we will have a new swimming pool after 50 years, we will have the athletics field completely redeveloped, we will see the Villachiaviche sports center expanded with indoor facilities and we have laid the foundations with “Cesena Sport City” to design and build structures in our city capable of hosting sports that are gaining ground, such as roller sports and climbing. We will continue our commitment to ensure that the Administration keeps its guard up on the maintenance of the streets and large city parks, which from the Covid period onwards have become points of reference for. the sporting, recreational and leisure activities of many people in Cesena”.
“We will be protagonists – continues the note – in the definition of a new model of public transport in the city, going beyond the reasoning of just reviewing the current lines, working on new ideas capable of making the service more efficient. In particular we want to create transport that allows children – during the afternoon – to reach the sports facilities: creating connections from schools and hamlets to the sports facilities. Since schools and sports facilities are the places where young people today spend most of their time, we believe that facilitating the logistical relationship between home, school and sport represents one of the most challenging opportunities of the coming years. For us, public spaces represent opportunities to experience the city positively in our free time. in the center and in the hamlets, can be equipped with everything needed to be enjoyed even more by families and the many communities of our city”.
