Nourishment, car park arrangement and asphalt resurfacing: it will be a June of passion for the swimmers and operators of Portonovo. The asphalting work on the main road leading to the bay began two weeks ago and at least one more will be needed before everything is finished. There is no shortage of inconveniences, even if the company, following input from the municipal administration, worked in moments of lesser presence, if not absence, of swimmers. Between delays in procedures and changes to intervention plans, the bulk of the work will be carried out in the period between the end of May and the month of June. In addition to the movement of material to reinforce the Capannina beach (which we talk about in another piece), the interventions financed by the government for the G7 on Health began a few weeks ago. The global event will take place at the Mole from 9 to 11 October, but with the summer season now constantly heading towards a hot September the Municipality has decided to carry out the interventions planned for the various lots between the end of spring and the beginning of summer. The two main public car parks will be renovated, the one at the Tower and the one in the pier area (Lago Grande), but above all the new asphalt will soon be applied for the connecting road from the Conero provincial road to the bay. The work is well underway, more than half the road has been resurfaced, the upper part is missing for around 200 metres. The stretch in question has been ‘scratched’ while waiting for the new bitumen to be laid, but the roadway in those conditions represents a danger for those who ride a scooter, with the tires at risk of slipping on the uneven ground. The choice to carry out those works is linked to the presence of part of the G7 international delegations in the Portonovo hotels. In this period in which there is not yet a large influx of tourists into the bay, we will have to grit our teeth and arm ourselves with great patience: inconveniences will be inevitable. The objective is to make the bay, the establishments and restaurants, while guaranteeing the necessary safety and an appearance suited to the wonderful place that Ancona is lucky enough to be able to show off to the eyes of the world.
