TRENT. “Good morning Trento, is this the new swimming pool that will be inaugurated today at 8?” and then in the comments, in response, “No, that’s just the diving pool.”

There is certainly no lack of sarcasm among Facebook users who, in the last few hours, found themselves interacting with the photograph posted on the “Trento for dummies” group of an excavation which filled with water in via Brennero, in the area where the works for the construction of the railway bypasson the very day in which the season of the “Summer Lido” of northern Trento opened.

Beyond the irony, the photo is real and some users were worried for the hygienic and sanitary conditions of the area, defining it “an open-air latrine” and underlining how accumulations of water can contribute to the spread of mosquitoes.

“It’s about the area where the works begin for the construction of the railway bypass and evidently in these days of heavy rain the excavation filled with water, but no critical issues were reported and I take it for granted that the situation will be resolved in a short time” explains thecouncilor for public works of the Municipality of Trento Italo Gilmozzi.

“There is a constant update on the progress of the works, with the municipal council having always requested a ever greater information and transparency by RFI given the importance of the work – specifies Gilmozzi –because this is a fundamental aspect. It seems to me, it should be underlined, that from this point of view there has been a positive change of pace and the hope is that we continue in this direction”
