BRINDISI – On the occasion of the 78th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic on June 2nd, the Prefecture has organised, in collaboration with the San Marco Marina Brigade Command and the Municipality of Brindisi, a commemorative ceremony which will be held in Piazza Santa Teresa starting at 10.00 am.
Civil, military and religious authorities will be present.
The event, like every year, will begin with the Prefect’s review of the departments and will continue with the flag-raising ceremony which this year will have a particular added value with the performance of the national anthem by the choir and of the student orchestra of the Orpheus Network.
The ceremony will continue with the Prefect’s speech addressed to the guests and all citizens and with some reflections from the students on the meaning of the day.
During the ceremony, 6 honors of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic (list attached) will be awarded to citizens of this province who have distinguished themselves for merit acquired in the disengagement of public offices and activities carried out for social, philanthropic and humanitarian purposes, as well as for long and notable services in his civil and military career.
At the end of the ceremony it will be possible to visit the exhibition “Women and the birth of the Republic” organized by the State Archives.
