The truth behind the Belfiore accident: an in-depth analysis
Stefano Zuccarini, the mayor of Foligno, expressed his concern about the false and biased news circulating on social media and in the press regarding the incident which occurred during a public meeting in Belfiore. According to him, these accusations seek to discredit the work of the police, which has always been impeccable.
Zuccarini strongly criticizes the use of law enforcement for propaganda and political purposes, underlining how shameful it is to try to create non-existent conflicts between law enforcement and the municipal administration. These accusations, according to him, are just attempts to fuel anti-democratic conspiracy theories.
The mayor recalls that the people protesting against the failure to build the Belfiore social center were invited to participate in the meeting. These people listened to the presentation of the project and initial works of the community center, after which they left.
Zuccarini invites the left to focus on projects for Foligno and on issues that really interest the city, instead of fueling the political debate with unfounded exploitations.
Riccardo Polli, leader of the League in Foligno, was also present at the event. According to Polli, two men interested in the community center’s future were invited to attend the meeting. They listened intently, and when the mayor described the community center project, they walked away murmuring among themselves.
Polli underlines that the organized meetings are always open to all and are widely publicized on social media and in the area. The objective is to listen to citizens in the maximum spirit of transparency and participation, but always with respect and education.
According to Polli, a winning electoral campaign is one that focuses on concrete and achievable projects, rather than attacking opponents. Finally, he remembers that illusions vanish at the first gust of wind.
