The woman discharged from the hospital, where she had presented herself complaining of severe pain in the hemithorax with radiation to the shoulder, died after eleven hours: according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Agrigento, the responsibility lies with the doctor who did not carry out the necessary checks which would have led to the diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction which could, with an immediate therapeutic approach, have saved her. In particular, according to what was reconstructed from the autopsy on the woman, her death occurred due to “acute myocardial infarction associated with ischemic damage”. The symptoms reported by the patient, according to the reconstruction of the prosecutor’s office, should have alarmed the doctor also in light of the pathologies from which she suffered, including diabetes and hypertension, which in themselves represented a risk of cardiovascular diseases. The doctor is defended by the lawyer Giovanni Di Caro.
