Palermo, 6 million minibond from Unicredit to finance Farmitalia

Farmitalia, a company of excellence in the pharmaceutical industry, finances its development plans through an innovative instrument such as the issue of a minibond of 6 million euros. The operation will last 5 years and was completed with the support of UniCredit which fully subscribed to the bond loan.

The issuance of the Minibond of 6 million euros is aimed at supporting the 2022-2029 development project which involves the launch of 24 new products on the pharmaceutical market with the major international partners.

«UniCredit – declared Salvatore Malandrino, Regional Manager Sicily – is always at the forefront in supporting the sustainable growth of businesses and we are particularly proud to have made available to Farmitalia an alternative form of financing such as minibonds to support its investment and innovation. UniCredit intends to present itself as a reference partner for companies in these virtuous paths, confirming its commitment to local companies”.

Fabio Scaccia, sole director of Farmitalia, commented: «Next year Farmitalia will celebrate its 30 years of existence and is committed to the constant and continuous growth of a pharmaceutical company that starting from the South and continuing to have its operational base in Sicily continues, also in view of the inclusion of the new generations of my family, to imagine further development in new pharmaceutical sectors for the company which, going beyond its main core business – gynecology and obstetrics – is about to enter other sectors bringing its competitiveness and looking to a future that should find it among the main protagonists of the pharmaceutical sector both in Italy and in Europe. I thank all my precious collaborators for the results we have had and for those to come.”

The Farmitalia company was born from the intuition of Fabio Scaccia, a Sicilian entrepreneur who, together with a small group of collaborators, began to deal with the development of drugs and medical devices in the field of gynecology. The company grew rapidly and established a widespread network of informants throughout the country. In 2012 the company took its current name of Farmitalia through the acquisition of the historic brand born in Milan in the 1930s. The interest in women’s health led the company to deal with contraception, pregnancy, infectious diseases and menopause, thus embracing the female target at all stages of life. But Farmitalia today aims to take a step forward and move the health of the individual in general to the center of its interest. And this is why for some years it has also begun to take care of the male universe with highly innovative drugs also in the sectors of urology, andrology, diabetology and neurology.
