An overwhelming Parma climate: 10-0 in Grossetto in game 1

Parma Clima obtained their fifth consecutive victory last night by winning 10-0 on the field of Big Mat Grosseto.

The outcome of the match was never in doubt with the Emilians who played an excellent offensive game ennobled by eleven valid hits. Among these, two triples by Ascanio and Angioi and a double by Battioni. The best in the box were Noel Gonzalez (3 out of 4), Luis Gonzalez (3 out of 4) and Stefano Desimoni (2 out of 4). Erly Casanova also had an excellent performance on the mound, reaching his fourth personal victory of the season.

Parma Clima appeared on the field for the fourth consecutive time with the same defense and the same batting order. Monello received Casanova’s throws with Flisi designated, while Ascanio, Angioi, Luis Gonzalez and Encarnacion defended the diamond with Desimoni, Battioni and Noel Gonzalez forming the outside line.
The hosts entrusted the pitching mound to the Italian-Venezuelan Angelo Palumbo, lined up in battery with Beau Maggi. The guests extended their lead to 5-0 in a third inning characterized by hits from Noel and Luis Gonzalez, two errors from the Grosseto defense and the replacement of Palumbo (2.1rl, 5p, 3pgl, 5bvc, 2bb, 2 so) with Barreto, good at closing the inning, forcing Ascanio into a double play.
The progressive expansion of the lead allowed Casanova to pitch with tranquility and confidence. In the first three innings the Cuban pitcher suffered three hits, all infield singles, which however did not cause him particular worries. In the following innings he increased the number of revolutions, did not allow any more base hits and closed the fifth inning with three consecutive outs at the plate.

However, the evening of grace for Parma’s attack did not end. In the fourth inning two more points arrived thanks to a triple by Angioi, a double by Battioni and a single by Noel Gonzalez, in the fifth the result rose to eight to zero thanks to two hits by Luis Gonzalez and Desimoni against Nicola Mega, second Tuscan survey. The Ducali reached double figures in the sixth, thanks to Noel Gonzalez’s third personal hit which pushed the leadoff Angioi to home plate.
Casanova’s game (5rl, 0pgl, 3bvc, 1bb, 6so) lasted 76 pitches and five innings. The last two innings were entrusted to Manuel Santana who fulfilled his task without problems. The last two games of the program will be played today at 16:30 (Italian-trained pitchers) and at 20:30 (open game).
