The confession of the Night Before Exams actor: “I don’t feel like a former actor, but just someone who is doing something else and is still very happy.”
Nicolas Vaporidis, historical protagonist of the blockbuster films of the 2000s (one for all, Night before the exams), has left the world of cinema “again”. After the very brief return already declared last March, the idyll is already over. However, the actor acknowledges: “I think that leaving the acting profession is not like leaving other professions or retiring.”

Nicolas Vaporidis spoke to the editorial staff of Libero and confessed that he is now out of the loop and completely busy with his restaurant in London: “That’s also a theater where there’s a performance every night. And at lunchtime too.” He thinks about his past as an actor, but put things in perspective:
Do they call me a former actor? I think first of all that leaving the acting profession is not like retiring or stopping doing other jobs. Having said that, today I read everything with a different attitude than before. I have learned not to give too much weight to many things. As a kid I always wanted to answer. Today I learned that it’s not necessarily necessary to have my say on everything.
Returning to the set: “But it was two years ago”
More recently, there had been talk of a return to the set but Nicolas Vaporidis admits that it was a project vecchio: “We shot that film two years ago in Brazil.”

When some writing comes along that I like, interests me and in which I recognize myself, I put other things on hold for a while and do what needs to be done. I can only add therefore that mine was not the decision of someone who gave up but of a person who made a choice of continuity with life by embracing change in a positive way. Now I have also learned one more thing. The first person who needs to be satisfied is myself… So no, I don’t feel like a former actor at all but I’m happy to be completely myself: I’m Nicolas who was an actor for part of his life, a period that I remember with big smiles and now I’m doing something else and I’m still very happy.
