The artist found in the drawing the “Concept of air” which, according to his thesis, unites all of Leonardo’s works

LECCO – “It was an honor for my wife and I to be invited and received in the studio/workshop in Pavia by the Maestro Xante Battagliaeccentric and multifaceted international artist, belonging toConceptual art And Behavioral. Even the Master (defined by Pierre Restany ‘a talent through style’, from Giosuè Allegrini ‘champion of humanity’ and from Marco Marinacci ‘the Leonardo of today’) believes that the Christ of Lecco is a drawing by Leonardo’s hand”.
As evidence of the importance and interest that the bleed drawing owned by the Mazzoleni family is arousing which, following long and in-depth researchmore and more scholars attribute it to the hand of Leonardo da Vinci, Massimo Mazzoleni and his wife Silvia Gallo they met the well-known international artist, professor of the first chair of painting atBrera Academy of Fine Arts in Milanas well as in the past holder of the first Chair of painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice and also professor in the Academies of Catania, Macerata, Reggio Calabria and Carrara.
“His was a very welcome invitation and on the occasion he gave us his authenticated photo of the Christ of Lecco with which he wanted to attest to his personal belief that the sanguine drawing of the Christ of Leccoor rather theSelf-portrait of Lecco as he himself defined and believed, it is a work certainly attributable to the hand of the great Renaissance artist Leonardo Da Vinci. A statement that came after careful studies and analyzes of the work that lasted more than 8 months.”
A work that never ceases to spark discussion throughout the art world, considered by all to be of unique interest. Massimo Mazzoleni and his wife Silvia thus had the pleasure of listening to the direct voice of the Maestro Xante Battaglia the reasons given in support of Leonardo’s paternity of the sanguine drawing, a conclusion which he reported in a more concise manner in his authenticity. In the Christ of Lecco, Maestro Battaglia identified the characteristics already theorized and exposed in a study conducted at theUniversity of Salerno resulting from the analysis of Leonardo’s works. Study for which he received an important recognition.
“In the Self-portrait of Lecco we find the ‘air concept’ as exposed in his thesis in which he clarifies how Leonardo captured the air by enveloping the images and objects, making the painting plastic and soft – explained Massimo Mazzoleni -. A welcome surprise (as well as a real honor) was also receiving a free work of his created based on the photo of the Christ/Self-portrait of Lecco where Maestro Battaglia is the protagonist of a pictorial intervention as has already been done for other universal iconic subjects such as the Mona Lisa and Marilyn Monroe, further indirect testimony to the importance found by Master and not convincing’”.
