The Arezzo Police seize 3804 packages of counterfeit perfumes

The State Police of Arezzo, in two separate judicial police operations, first of all in the morning, stopped fraudulent trafficking of designer goods, seizing 3,804 packages of counterfeit perfumes apparently produced by the largest brands on the market (Dior, Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Bulgari, Gucci), subsequently, in the afternoon, recovered all the stolen goods stolen shortly before from the well-known shopping center of the big brands “THE MALL” in Reggello not far from the Incisa motorway toll booth.

In both cases the operations involved the southern carriageway of the Autostrada del Sole and two patrols of the Battifolle Traffic Police, engaged in the usual road surveillance service.

In the first intervention, the police noticed a foreign truck stopped in the emergency lane and two people near it, dangerously asking for help from passing vehicles.

The officers first did their utmost to provide the necessary assistance and then, following their instinct as seasoned investigators, they decided to deepen the control and discovered, crammed in the cargo compartment, numerous boxes full of apparently designer perfumes, but which turned out to be fake. reproduction of the originals: cologne of poor quality and value, passed off as top of the range perfumes.

The actual market value of the seized goods would have been, in the case of authentic products, well above 500,000 euros, just to make it clear how much the fraudsters would have earned from retail sales by deceiving unsuspecting buyers.

The two subjects, father and son both originally from Eastern Europe, were reported for receiving stolen goods and, given that their vehicle was also seized, they were forced to return on foot anyway.

During the afternoon, another Battifolle Polstrada patrol stopped for a check a Peugeot 207 car with an Italian license plate and driven by a thirty-year-old South American, found in possession of items of clothing and handbags, branded Burberry and Gucci.

When asked for explanations about the origin of what was transported, the person showed a purchase receipt for 140 euros: a clumsy attempt to justify the possession of all that goods which were worth at least 3,500.

The policemen were not fooled and accompanied him to the office where, also thanks to the viewing of the video recording systems, he was recognized as the perpetrator of 2 thefts which occurred in as many shops located inside the “THE MALL” shopping center in Reggello and therefore reported for theft.
