Arezzo, 26 June 2024 – They will start the next one Monday 8 July in San Giovanni interventions for connect safely, the Arno cycle path to the Chianti cycle path in via Bolzano to ensure better traffic in the area. The completion of the Chianti cycle path, financed by the Tuscany Region, includes a investment of 240 thousand euros and will allow the route to be connected with the Arno cycle path. Two-wheel enthusiasts will therefore be able to travel safely and reach, without leaving their vehicle, the municipal borders, sports and school areas, the historic centre, the station and the main places of attraction and interest.
“ A further piece in the integrated system of green and sustainable mobility – declared the mayor of San Giovanni Valentina Vadi – in which we have invested a lot in the past five years and in which we will continue to invest in the years to come. This intervention will also make it possible to improve traffic in a particularly crucial junction for San Giovanni Valdarno: the link road connecting Sant’Andrea and Piazza Casprini will see the creation of a second lane and an improvement in the traffic of Via Bolzano”. During the implementation of the work, the road system near the intersection of via Pareto, in the roundabout in front of the Staccioli wheels, will be modified and improved, so as to allow the exit of via Bolzano towards the roundabout and make the entire road one-way unique. Furthermore, the expansion of the link road between Piazza Casprini and Via dell’Energia with a second lane will be envisaged. The new works – according to forecasts – will therefore make it possible to streamline traffic in the area also in view of the construction of the new Community House.
“The works in via Bolzano – underlined Lucia Ermini, responsible for public works in the municipality – will also ensure greater safety for pedestrians and boys and girls who attend school”. The new cycle path, with a width varying between 2.5 and 3 metres, will be built in via Bolzano on the residential side.
