The events will take place starting from 9am this morning, Saturday 29th June, battery of the Palio di Siena of July 2, 2024, first chapter of the Deals with for the career that is run in honor of the Madonna of Provenzano and whose Drappellone that will go to the winning Contrada was created by the artist Giovanni Gasparro (go to the article).
The 35 participating horses – all presented at the Tratta the admitted horses – have been grouped into five batteries and will be tested for the usual three laps around the Piazza, under the orders of the starter Bartolo Ambrosione, in order to verify their adaptability to the track.
At the end of the five heats, except for a recovery heat, the ten Captains of the Contrade that run the Palio, in the presence of the mayor of Siena, Nicoletta Fabio, will meet inside the Palazzo Pubblico to choose the ten subjects that will be assigned to the ten Contrade participating in the career of the Palio di Siena of July 2, 2024 (Valdimontone, Pantera, Bruco, Leocorno, Lupa, Civetta, Goose, Giraffe, Nicchio and Onda).
