On-call buses to travel to Treviso in the evening: the new service starts from 14 June | Today Treviso | News

TREVISO – From June in Treviso, for all summer weekends, the on-call bus service will start for the first time. Mom’s new public transport series it will be active, on an experimental basis, from 14 June to 7 September on Friday and Saturday evenings, from 8.30pm to midnight. Mom’s new proposal responds to the need to provide an urban transport service between the center and the neighborhoods of the city also in the evening for young people or workers (today the buses finish at 8.30pm) and to reduce car traffic. The reference area of public transport on demand will be over 15 square km in the municipal area of Treviso while the active stops marked by specific signs will be 262.

HOW DOES IT WORK – It will be possible book your trip from seven days up to 30 minutes before the requested time, via a new MOM+ App or by telephone (0422-588611) active from the service air force. Each transport request will be managed by specialized software that combines the incoming requests and manages them, offering passengers the fastest and most comfortable journey for their transfer from where they are to their destination. For this service, three 8-metre electric buses will be in operation with a capacity of around 40 seats, which will follow the fastest and most suitable route based on requests via a dedicated console on board. An operations center will instead manage the service remotely, also inserting telephone reservations.

TICKETS AND FARES – Access to the service requires the use of urban travel tickets, without additional costs. All those who have an urban pass for the Treviso area will also be able to use it for this on-call service. Some promotional tickets will also be available which can be distributed free of charge to citizens by the municipality of Treviso. The first stage of information and promotion on the new service will be the event on May 31st in Borgo Mazzini as part of the public presentation of the PUMS.

The on-call bus project will also be developed in Villorba starting from 10 June and subsequently also in Vittorio Veneto (the official launch date will be communicated soon): “In these two municipalities the service will be active during the day and not in the evening, guaranteeing effective transport throughout the day and on all weekdays, including Saturdays, and reducing bus journeys empty,” explains the president of Mom Giacomo Colladon. A flexible, punctual and personalized service based on user needs. “In the typical nature of flexible services, we have deliberately focused on evening services because the city has been waiting for this type of public transport for a long time, in order to respond to multiple needs – underlines theMobility councilor Andrea De Checchi – Those of those who work who will thus be able to use the bus at the end of the time, those of tourists who can enjoy the city by public transport in the evening and those of residents who will thus be able to travel in the evening without using their own transport. Services like this can be summarized in two fundamental aspects: more sustainable mobility and more attractiveness for the city”.

“We had announced it months ago and today we are proud to present together with Mom, starting from the capital city, the new experimental on-call service which will be active in Treviso, Villorba and Vittorio Veneto – the words of the president of the Province of Treviso, Stefano Marcon – an easily accessible tool, developed with the aim of responding even better to citizens’ needs and, at the same time, optimizing routes, with a view to sustainability and reducing the impact on the environment”
