You say Rodney Strasser and you think of the epiphany of 2011, the goal at Sant’Elia against Cagliari that broke the deadlock in a complicated match five minutes from the end. That Milan, thanks also to that young midfielder, will continue on their path which will lead them to their 18th Scudetto. Today Strasser is 34 years old, he has hung up his shoes after a career conditioned by some injuries that slowed down his rise. But he did not remain idle and has hit the headlines in recent days for having helped a hospital in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone, his birthplace. What memories do you have of your experience with the Rossoneri?
“I certainly played little, but if you look at the squad that was there at the time, how did you manage to play? Crazy midfield: Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Van Bommel, Boateng, Flamini, Ambrosini. Now it’s different, I see you even get to the national team with exaggerated ease. I’ll tell you, in this Milan with this squad I would play without problems. Maybe not 100% of the matches but certainly more than then.”
