The walk of relief on the seafront on Sunday

CIVITAVECCHIA – “Palliative care must be supported by the population”. This is the message that Volunteering Promotes Life, together with the ASL Rm4 and the “Carlo Chenis” palliative care center, want to convey through the “Relief Walk”, scheduled for Sunday morning on the seafront.

The appointment for everyone, as explained by Anna Battaglini of the volunteering promotes life, is for 9am near the Statue of the Kiss. «The objective is to reach the Naval League and go back to the Navy – she added – but everyone will be able to travel as far as they want. The spirit is to be together and to do it to raise awareness of the importance of palliative care.”

A current and very important topic also and above all in the area that hosts the “Carlo Chenis” hospice, an excellence for the entire Lazio Region.

«One way to demonstrate how the hospice must be a place of life, until the last moment – explained Dr. Francesco Scarcella, palliative care doctor and head, among other things, of the regional table for palliative care – the support of the third sector, in this context, as also highlighted by the regional plan for the development of palliative networks approved last March, is fundamental”.

The relief walk, as recalled by the nursing coordinator of the Chenis Center, Dr. Immacolata Cuomo, will close the “Relief Week” together with the concert, scheduled for Sunday at 6pm at the Claudio theater in Tolfa, by the “Generazione musica” group.
