This weekend in Sicily there will be a journey through the history and traditions of typical dishes such as the Schiticchio in San Piero Patti, together with the Quisquina Cheese Festival.

Among the most anticipated events this week is the flower display in Noto, together with the Schiticchio di Primavera and the Quisquina Cheese Festival and also the visit and tasting of the products of the Mandralisca Miele beekeeping company in Gangi.

This weekend “Schiticchio di Primavera” returns to San Piero Patti (ME). Visitors will be able to taste the Gastronomic Stands traditional dishes prepared exclusively with seasonal products. There will also be entertainment with em musiccraft market.

This Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th the XXII edition of the Quisquina Cheese Festival returnsFestival of Cheese and Typical Quisquina Products in Santo Stefano Quisquina. Annual event dedicated to promoting the territory and its typical products. The event will host local producers which will present different types of cheeses and typical products. A real one triumph of flavors and artisanal knowledge. The vast choice of products will be enriched by an intense entertainment program suitable for all generations: exceptional chefs will delight visitors with creative dishes and tastings. There will be many moments and events at the Cheese Festival and typical Quisquinesi products such as several tastings of various cheeses which are produced in the surrounding areas: caciocavallo, ricotta, tuma, primosale and stagionato. It will not only be possible to taste cheese, but also honey, oil and the excellent meat of the Sicani Mountains. There will also be several cooking showas well as musical and entertainment moments.

Baroque Spring in Noto, la Via Nicolaci it will be theater of the 45th edition of the Infiorata of Noto from 17 to 21 May 2024. This year’s theme will be “Homage to Giacomo Puccini in his Centenary: the Master who lives in time and art”. Every year the third weekend of May is dedicated to the Infiorata, a historic event in the city of Known which is part of the Baroque Spring, a series of events including the Baroque processionmade up of criers in period costume, figures, flag-wavers, and musicians, who parade through the streets of the historic centre.

The road, 122 meters long and approximately 7 meters wide, will be filled with flowers along its entire length and 6 meters wide. The carpet will cover an area of ​​700 m2 and will be made up of 16 sketches. Sunday 19 May, the company opens its doors to visitors, accompanying them on a unique experiential journey, thanks to the national “Open Mielerie” initiative: a way to bring consumers and hive products together. A sensorial journey to learn the secrets of the production processes of honey, pollen, wax, royal jelly and propolis. A visit to the apiaries and the production laboratory is planned to witness the honey extraction and the various procedures from cleaning the hives.
Again, we focus on the characteristics of honey and discover the tasty connections with flavors and gastronomic traditions. A tasting of the 2024 production honeys (Sulla, Cardo and Millefiori) is planned. Appointments at 9.00 or 15.30. To participate in the visit and free tasting, reservations are required.
