A Matteo Berrettini found in Stuttgart faces Lorenzo Musetti In the all-Italian derby of the semi-final of the tournament. «Every time I go out on the grass I feel good and I would like to play for hours and hours», admitted the Roman tennis player after beating and eliminating Duckworth in the quarterfinals in two sets (6-4 7-5). Musetti, however, obtained the pass for qualification following the Bublik retreat who in the quarter-final, at the beginning of the third set with a score of 4-6, 6-1, 1-0, raised the white flag after an hour and 18 minutes of play.
Berrettini chose to answer, it is therefore Musetti to start at bat. And Lorenzo starts the match well by keeping serve at zero: 1-0 for him over Matteo. Berrettini immediately regains the draw, holding serve: 1-1. Matteo then breaks his opponent’s serve and leads 2-1. Berrettini holds the serve and leads 3-1. Musetti is back below: 3-2. Berrettini still holds the serve: 4-2. But Lorenzo grits his teeth and gets back to 4-3. Berrettini still maintains the serve: 5-3. Matteo wastes a set point, Musetti takes the lead 5-4. Berrettini struggles but recovers from o0-40 and closes the first set 6-4.
The winner will challenge Jack Draper in the final who has already beaten Nakashima in two sets (6-3 6-3).
