City council meeting yesterday May 16th. The long discussion between the majority and minority political forces on the topic of Multiservice, in particular on the assignment of cemetery services, ended late at night. The council closed after midnight with a unanimous vote to award these services to the municipal company. The measure voted in the chamber was the result of a series of amendments approved by the political forces following the debate that the mayor Giovanna Bruno welcomed with satisfaction. «The resolutions that arrive at the council are never pre-packaged, but are the starting point for debate and discussion between the political forces. What happened yesterday is the synthesis of this confrontation. We have come to entrust the cemetery services to Andria Multiservice with the support and sharing of all the councillors. A measure that goes in the direction of strengthening the development of Multiservice, with a view to increasing provision of services, in line with our mandate objectives. We have collected a very heavy legacy, serious conditions in which the institution and the municipal company itself found themselves. Well, Andria Multiservice has progressively seen its revenues increase compared to last year, with a consequent reduction in the debt mass, and is now gaining additional tasks and orders in the field. An objective that we are committed to pursuing without any ifs or buts, strengthening the role of the municipal company with the guarantee of work and remuneration for its 100 employees.”

To these employees will be added those who have already worked within the municipal cemetery until now, for whom it will be hiring and total working continuity of the services are guaranteed to be made more and more efficient. In detail, from 1 June Multiservice will be entrusted, in accordance with the decision of the municipal council following the vote on the amended resolution proposal, with services relating to the fulfillment of bureaucratic-administrative obligations, burial, exhumation and exhumation operations, burial, translation, reduction into a box, the ordinary maintenance of the cemetery heritage, the cleaning and care of the cemeteries and the relevant green areas, the maintenance of the artefacts and the management of votive lighting.
