The first market coup for president Magrì’s club could come from the professionals
Virtus Francavilla is starting to think about building the squad for next season. According to what our editorial team has gathered, one of the targets in sporting director Francesco Montervino’s notebook is Giacinto Allegrini.
The expert Cerignola defender, despite having played professionally for several years, could accept the proposal of president Antonio Magrì’s club and compete in Serie D with the Francavilla shirt.
This year has been an up-and-down season for him with only 15 appearances in the league plus one in the Italian Cup Serie C. A total of 934 minutes played, zero goals and a yellow card.
The class of ’89 will, however, be able to lend the hand needed to the white and blue club after relegation. His experience could be what is needed to become great again.
Virtus Francavilla, Allegrini goal
Giacinto Allegrini could be Virtus Francavilla’s first signing. The defender who grew up in Bari, Puglia, also made his debut in Serie B, collecting 8 appearances in total. From there began a career full of transfers in what at the time was called Lega Pro 2: Noicattaro, Valenzana and Gubbio. Then the choice to arrive in Serie D in 2012 with Monopoli.
After wearing the jerseys of Bisceglie, Andria and Nardò in the amateur series. In 2016 he returned to the professional ranks in Serie C with Andria, where, however, he did not find much space. Here he began his adventure with Cerignola in D, which was only slowed down in the 2019/20 season by his move to Taranto. Today Allegrini could say goodbye to the yellow and blue again after four years.
