Sunday 5 May 2024 – The ‘Blue Room’ on the ground floor of the Palazzo di Città, the municipal headquarters in Piazza Matteotti, has been officially openeda space desired by the Mayor and the municipal administration.
Purpose: to welcome people with autism, their families and those who are active in voluntary associations that operate in this area.
Present at the meeting were the Mayor, the councilor for Equal Opportunities and the Councilor for Urban Planning, the president of the Fish Basilicata association (Italian Federation for overcoming handicaps), Carmela De Vivo.
“It is a place – it was explained during the meeting – which it was decided to identify in a particularly accessible site and, at the same time, which allows respect for privacy for those who wish to visit it.
The objective, through continuous dialogue between the Institution and those who are interested and operate in the field of assistance to people with autism, – it is specified in a note – is to activate increasingly inclusive pathswhich, despite the presence of bureaucratic, economic and legislative difficulties, can contribute to overcoming all those barriers of all kinds that people with autism are still forced to face today”.
