Regulate and improve the private school system in Sicily to definitively eliminate the shame of ‘diploma factories’.

This is the theme of the bill presented to the Ars by the PD group, the first signatory being the Trapani MP Dario Safina.

“Private schools – declared Safina – must be places of quality learning, where students can grow and develop fully. With this bill, we are working to ensure that every student has access to an education that adequately prepares them for face the challenges of the modern world”.

“This legislative intervention – continued the MP from Trapani – not only aims to protect students and the right to study, but also aims to enhance merit as a fundamental element for a modern and progressive society. Meritocracy will be the lighthouse that will guide the Sicilian education system towards new goals of excellence”.

Among the salient points of the bill, there is the obligation for private schools to activate all classes, from the first to the last year of the course, guaranteeing a minimum number of ten students per class. Furthermore, the establishment of collateral terminal classes is prohibited, to avoid practices that could compromise the quality of education.

“Furthermore – underlined Safina – the Bill provides that public financial resources are allocated exclusively to non-profit organisations, thus guaranteeing transparent management oriented towards the common good”.

“Now the centre-right majority in the regional government no longer has any excuse. If it is true as you say that you want to put an end to this merry-go-round, approve the bill we have presented. You demonstrate in deeds what you have so far only stated in your intentions and intentions, that is, a tangible and concrete commitment to guarantee quality education and a promising future for young Sicilians”, concluded the Honorable Dem.
