Mural, at the Villetta in the pedestrian underpass there is the sea

CREMONA – The pedestrian underpass that allows you to safely cross via Giuseppina will be transformed into a colorful underwater tunnel in a few days complete with portholes, fish of the most curious species, sinuous octopuses, impalpable jellyfish. A feast for the eyes of the students of Bianca Maria Visconti elementary school who will finally be able to experience a colorful adventure – in absolute safety – every time they go to or return from school.

He’s enthusiastic Francesca Romagnoli, president of the neighborhood committee 11 Cascinetto-Villetta-Concordia, who followed step by step the regeneration work of the ‘tunnel’ carried out by the girls and boys of the Street Art Laboratory – Territorial Education Project of the Municipality of Cremona managed by the Cosper and Nazareth cooperatives.

The educators Giorgio Jad Coppiardi and Stefano Delvò will guide the budding artists, the latter also author of the artistic project. A magical hand, his, which has already signed the mural it depicts Gianluca Vialli in his oratory of Christ the King and the composer Amilcare Ponchielli in his Paderno.

«I imagine an increasingly beautiful and functional neighborhood, tailored to those who live there – explains Romagnoli -. It is with this objective and to follow up on the requests of the children of the Visconti school and as a committee that we willingly set to work. The Aprica company took care of the deep cleaning, which was really necessary, with the removal of waste and washing of stairs and walkways. Then the guys in the workshop first erased the writings and then prepared the background. On Wednesday we will find out what the street artists have in store for us. Thank you very much to the children and educators who, with their commitment, contribute to making a hidden corner of our city more beautiful», concludes Romagnoli.

The artistic and functional recovery of the pedestrian underpass follows a few weeks later the inauguration of the nearby Prato Albero della Libertà park, the redeveloped green space between Ca’ del Vescovo, Aleni and Berenzi streets. New plants, games, decorated benches have made it a shaded, welcoming and inclusive place, child-friendly and a meeting point for the inhabitants.
