A multi-convict from Ancona was arrested for drug dealing, who was hiding 1.7 kilos of drugs in his house. The operation was conducted by the soldiers of the provincial command of the Guardia di Finanza of Ancona who, during a targeted intervention aimed at the prevention and repression of drug trafficking in the neighborhoods of the Doric capital most subject to the phenomenon of drug dealing, took drug trafficker arrested. Subjected to an initial check in the Tavernelle area, the man was found in possession of a dose of cocaine, to the eye of inexperienced operators he could have appeared to be a drug addict on his way home from purchasing his daily dose. But the green Basques of Ancona were not fooled by appearances. In particular, they became suspicious of the detainee’s attitude: cold sweating, shifty gaze and evasive as well as contradictory responses pushed the financiers to extend the check to the detainee’s residence. The house search operations made it possible to find and seize a total of 14 blocks of hashish weighing a total of 1,398 kilos, a cellophane bag containing 297 grams of marijuana as well as various materials for packaging and cutting the narcotic substance. These quantities, if placed on the market, would have yielded illicit proceeds of over 17 thousand euros. Two of the blocks found, in particular, are made up of a substance known among the new generations as “dry hashish”, a quality of narcotic subjected to specific manufacturing processes which enhance its effect on the consumer, thus increasing its danger and health risks. During the intervention, the mobile phone in the possession of the drug dealer was also seized, to proceed with investigations aimed at reconstructing the sources of supply and the related drug dealing chain. At the end of the operations the man was initially placed under house arrest, on the orders of the public prosecutor on duty and then taken to the Ancona prison following the provisions of the validation hearing. The monitoring of drug trafficking by the Guardia di Finanza continues unabated so as to protect young people from the risks associated with the consumption of substances dangerous to their health as well as to deprive organized crime of one of the main sources of supply of illicit proceeds , which pollute the legal economy.
