«The defeats of Salerno and Caserta useful for growth»

Fabo’s centre-forward sums up the season between the Italian Cup (“I wouldn’t trade it for first place”) and the play-offs (“Forbidden to disunite!”)

We’re all a little envious of the Fabo. Or rather, jealous. Jealous that you don’t have someone like you in your life Marco Arrigoni. In fact, the Milanese center forward born in 1991, even in moments of difficulty, is the one who makes the simplest things easy, who puts balls into the basket that in the previous minutes the whole team was unable to handle and who resolves the most complex situations. Marco Arrigoni he has been at for a year and a half Montecatini shore Fabo and for a year and a half this team has significantly raised its objectives: could it be a coincidence?

Reached in the last week of the championship in which the Fabo after the knockout of Livorno will have to find out who among Mestre And Faenza will face the good guy in the play-offs Arrigoni analyzed the past, present and future of this team.

So Marco, you managed to take a Pielle team that has triumphed for 16 consecutive games to extra time: what information do you get from this heartfelt match?

«Despite the defeat we carry ours with us desire to do it even though the situations get bad, a lot intensity that we have found in the last period and this compactness that we were missing a little.”

You finished third in the regular season: do you have any regrets?

«Yes, a few games too many it was thrown away, especially the away games in Salerno and Caserta taken too lightly. These defeats, however, served us well grow and to gain experience which led us to achieve third place immediately behind two very well-equipped teams like the two from Livorno.”

Would you trade success in the Italian Cup for first place in the play-off grid?

“Absolutely not! I’m fine with that because the cup it gave us a lot of confidence and despite it being a closed chapter we hold onto it tightly. In fact, it remains a fundamental point and a very important goal for us, resulting in a very important goal for such a young and ambitious club.”

Second year in Montecatini and second play-offs to go to A2 achieved: what are the similarities and differences with last year’s Fabo?

«The ambitions from the beginning of the year are different because last season we were chasing, the play-offs arrived after a very long ride as the final prize, in which however we had the shortness of breath. This year, however, we earned it from the start because we have always been in the top positions and at this point we are trying to achieve the big objective. On a personal and corporate level, however, I see few differences because they have been two years full of satisfactions.”

Finally, now the play-offs await us which the expert Marco Arrigoni has done so many of and won 3 of: what should you do and what absolutely not to do in a play-off series?

“Surely maintain intensity which has distinguished us throughout the season and do not disunite in times of difficulty because the play-offs are full of pitfalls. You shouldn’t look at the one-off match, but at the series that can be overturned at any moment. Energy must also be kept high because these can get you out of difficult moments.”
