ABRUZZO. Progress according to Cia Chieti-Pescara regarding the production of organic agriculture in Abruzzo, which reached the fifth place in Italy, according to the new report from the Agrofarma Observatory. This signals an important step forward for the region in promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural practices.

According to the data reported in the report, Central Italy confirms itself as one of the most dynamic areas in the agricultural sector, with a significant incidence of organic farming on the agricultural surface used. Furthermore, the report highlights that the regions of Central Italy, including Abruzzo, are at the top of the national ranking for the adoption of innovative agricultural practices.

The President Cia Chieti-Pescara, Domenico Bombahe comments, “This result testifies to the constant commitment of Abruzzo farmers towards sustainable and high-quality production. Abruzzo is proving to be a leader in the agricultural sector, and we are proud to contribute to this progress through our daily work.”

In the national context, the agri-food sector continues to show signs of growth, with over three million investments by associated companies. This indicates a growing interest in innovative solutions that can guarantee competitive and sustainable agri-food production in the long term.

The report also highlights that the agro-pharmaceutical industry currently has 32 plants throughout the national territory, with Emilia-Romagna in third place with 3 structures, followed by Abruzzo in fifth place with 2 plants, together with Lazio and the Marche, each with a structure.
