A terrible tragedy has shocked Costigliole d’Asti and the Artom Institute of Asti.

Last night around 10.30pm, in a road accident in Strada Ville, right at the crossroads with the hamlet of San Michele, in front of the Villa Cora retirement home, the seventeen-year-old lost his life Jacopo Gallo , resident with his family in the Annunziata di Costigliole hamlet. The boy, on board his motorbike, he crashed head-on into a car and the help that promptly arrived was of no avail.

Jacopo attended Artom, he had many friends who mourn him with his parents Massimo and Francesca – both Apro employees, he deals with logistics at the Alba office and she with relations with companies in the Canelli office – and his two twin brothers Mattia and Azzurra. Jacopo was waiting for his 18th birthday which he would celebrate soon. No celebration, just a lot of pain.

The principal of Artom also remembers this Franco Calcagno: “The school is deeply saddened. A boy with his whole future ahead of him. Companions and teachers are close to the family in this moment of great pain due to this sudden tragedy. We are shaken, even as parents, sadness is the first reaction, we will be close to his family but also to his companions who are looking for answers.”

The mayor of Costigliole, Enrico Alessandro Cavallerolast night he intervened on site bringing words of comfort to the family members devastated by grief: “A very well known and appreciated family, who he made many sacrifices for his three children. We are all shocked and the country is in mourning. The entire community is very shaken, therefore as a sign of respect towards the family we have decided to postpone the evening at the municipal cinema-theater to Friday 3 May ‘Books at the Cinema, thrills in the cinema’ which was scheduled for Friday 19th”.
