UDINE UTD – Faidotto: desire and malice are needed in every category

Fogging period now prolonged for l‘Udine United Rizzi Cormorwho after an excellent first round in the championship of Second category group C, finds itself stuck in the middle of the table after a largely disappointing return. The Bianconeri are no longer able to find the continuity of the first months and sporting director Adriano Faidotto is understandably saddened. With him, in addition to a thorough examination of football, we focused on the crisis of his team: “We are in a strange phase, I’m still trying to understand what’s happening. In the first round we always remained in second place, with an excellent performance and the team working at full speed. Then, however, there was a fairly significant decline that made us worry and a change on the bench was necessary, both in terms of play and on a physical level and mental. Mister Martinelli has arrived with great enthusiasm and an enviable energy, but the results are still struggling to arrive. I think that at this point it is more a mental problem of the players. Mister Bravin has paid for everyone because we have tried to shake things up. but even his successor, who is smart and prepared, is not managing to right the ship.”

Is this crisis due to a mental or physical factor?

“Both factors, one thing leads to another. When there isn’t the right mentality, the body doesn’t respond but also vice versa. To play for the championship victory at certain levels, you can’t miss a single training session and you always have to give your all. 100%, which we didn’t do probably due to structural and technical deficiencies. In the second round we melted like snow in the sun.”

The points gained in the first round are now useful more for survival than for victory.

“The first round was amazing and in December I intervened on the market bringing three superior category players. This year the objective was to try in every way to make the leap, I am very disappointed with the progress because without the great first round, at this point we would have looked back with great fear. It wasn’t the championship we wanted to have, it will serve as a lesson for next year.”

Have the arrivals in the winter transfer window brought about an imbalance in the locker room?

“Very serious guys have arrived, I knew them well and I know who I brought into the squad. I don’t think this drop is attributable to them, it’s something that concerns the whole group. The first round probably deceived us and at the first we have overcome difficulties. You have to be hungry, have the desire to win and train at a thousand miles per hour, probably not everyone has this thought.”

Even the Second Category has such a level that the first difficulty is difficult.

“The desire to win is independent of the categories. To do well you have to give everything even in the bar tournament otherwise you’ll make a fool of yourself. This is a very respectable category, where there are well-prepared teams who give everything on the pitch. If you only think about doing well for the name, he is very wrong. Many times in this second round I have seen little hunger and I am quite disappointed.”

The last week has certainly been fruitful for a football expert like you.

“I had a full immersion watching Udinese-Inter, Real Madrid-Manchester City and Triestina-Virtus Vecomp Verona. The Champions League match is certainly suitable for all lovers of this sport, when you think of a football match you always look for matches like this, it’s the best that discipline can offer, it’s real football with a capital C. There’s a lot of quality, intensity, we all hoped that the match would never end, unfortunately Udinese is going through a difficult period a great fan and I hope they save themselves. That ball in the area cannot pass, when the desired result is within reach you have to give 120%. You can’t give up because they were fundamental points for salvation. They are a team too often used to throwing points in the last minutes, there are some reflections to be made. In my opinion, however, they will be saved even if they are in deep water but we cannot reach the limit every year, I say this as a fan. I expect more peaceful championships they lost badly at home but will play in the playoffs, they aim to finish third but the defeat against an excellent team doesn’t help. When you put something extra in football in terms of temperament, even against a team like Triestina, you get a result. In football it’s not just quality that wins but also the approach to matches.”
