Lists of bans and changes. Forza Italia opens in Viscione
Descriptive text here

The exclusions of some candidates from the center-right lists are already inflaming the electoral game that will be played next June 8th and 9th. And in the meantime Forza Italia opens the doors to the possible entry of Viscione. What will be staged will be a challenge within a challenge with a no holds barred brawl that is developing between the various lists set up in support of the outgoing mayor. The issues, in light of the current continually evolving scenarios, specifically concern the ‘Forza Ascoli’ civic list led by deputy mayor Gianni Silvestri. In fact, the exclusion of the former UDC regional councilor Valeriano Camela was also followed by those of Francesco Viscione and Maria Stella Origlia. Two candidates who had confirmed their participation in the team put together by Silvestri together with the leaders and the mayor. The ‘niet’ imposed once again by the committee of wise men, a body made up of four elements chosen by Fioravanti to help him resolve the thorniest issues, has returned to taking a decisive but questionable position in the last few hours. In fact, the line adopted seems to have left many doubts. First of all regarding the divergences imposed compared to the preliminary ideas expressed by the mayor. And then secondly also for a yardstick that appeared non-linear depending on the different specific cases. The motivation expressed was to exclude those who had voted of no confidence in the then mayor Celani in 2009. An action in which, however, other names also took part (Ciccanti, Manes, Boretti, Cesare Celani, Bachetti, Micucci and Cacciatori) who, however, today are present in other lists in support of Fioravanti without any problems whatsoever. Piero Celani himself had also not opted for exclusion in the 2019 administrative elections, but today, 15 years later, this has once again become an impediment for the committee of wise men.

Valerio Pignotti, provincial coordinator of Forza Italia, preached openness and mediation. “We trust in the action of mayor Fioravanti – he comments – who so far has always been able to mediate well to guarantee the stability of the entire centre-right coalition. The recent agreement signed by Forza Italia with the mayors is aimed precisely at giving openness and I believe that we must expand as much as possible to help govern the city better given that we are talking about political figures who still represent a slice of the citizenry”.
