The other car stolen from Andrea Giambruno and the suspicions about the 007s: «A very bad story»
Descriptive text here

Journalist Andrea Giambruno must be really unlucky with cars. The story of the attempted theft (?) of his Porsche parked outside Giorgia Meloni’s house in Torrino apparently is moving towards being archived. Although the second man who was wandering near the car on the night between November 30th and December 1st, while the Prime Minister was flying to participate in Cop28, has not yet been identified. And the incredible mystery of the first identification by the agent who saw the two men remains: first he had recognized two men from the prime minister’s escort. Then he changed his story. In the meantime, however, another car has been stolen from Giambruno. A 500 also used in the past by Meloni. While it emerges that the two officers accused that day no longer held that position.

What doesn’t add up

The night of November 30th, reconstructs today the Corriere della Sera, she is approached by two people with caution. It is located in the Eur Torrino area, southern outskirts of Rome. Some officers who are standing there with their cars near the house for surveillance purposes notice them. And it is curious that the two people, if they really wanted to steal the car, did not notice the presence of policemen, even if in plain clothes, stationed nearby. Then other even more curious things happen. The first is when the officers intervene the two show a badge and walk away. However, a policewoman takes the license plate number and the following day she recounts the episode in the end-of-service report. At that point the alarm goes off: Digos informs the police chief Vittorio Pisani who lets the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi know everything.

The wrong recognition

The undersecretary for services Alfredo Mantovano and the leaders of Aisi were also informed. And of course they let Meloni know everything. The policewoman carries out a photographic identification. She is shown, among others, the faces of two men from Meloni’s escort. She confirms a resemblance. But on November 16 those two agents asked to be transferred. On the 30th they no longer held the position. On 15 December they were transferred to the Aise (i.e. to the foreign secret services) and sent one to Tunisia and one to Iraq. Also because, the newspapers reported, the prime minister had also “pointed” at them, complaining about their behaviour, even if for unknown reasons. Digos investigates the cell phones and discovers that the cell phones of the two suspects were in other areas. Is this enough to exonerate them?

The policewoman changes her story

At first glance it would seem not. First of all, it should be explained why the photos of those two officers were shown to the policewoman who was supposed to carry out the identification. Especially since the police could not have failed to know that they were not part of the escort at the time. Secondly, the evidence of the telephone cells seems rather bizarre, given that we are not talking about a baby gang but about policemen who know the investigation methods and therefore, in theory, would also be able to know how to circumvent the “classic” evidence like those of telephone cells. At this point the investigations turn to car thieves. The policewoman recognizes another person, who has specific precedents. But here too it is strange that a professional accustomed to recognition made such a spectacular mistake one of the two times. Without wishing to hypothesize which one.

The other theft

Finally there is the second theft. He tells it today The paper and it concerns a 500 which in the past would also have been used by the prime minister. The connection with the first episode is rather tenuous. Although this certainly supports the second line of investigation more than the first. Even if inside Fratelli d’Italia there are those who think that everything is connected. And that it is “a very bad story”.
