Final rush for the vote in the Basilicata regional elections: between now and Sunday come the days in which party leaders mobilize and the candidates tighten the last screws of the electoral machine.
YESTERDAY IT WAS Giuseppe Conte is on stage, who here supports the candidate Piero Marrese, of the Democratic Party, and who necessarily has to give an account of the state of the art of alliances. “I’m not passionate about formulas, I’m interested in projects: here is a proposal, with a serious candidate who has good administrative experience”, said the leader of the 5 Star Movement who was in Melfi yesterday, where the plant is located Stellantis, and in Potenza. Today he will pass through Pisticci to end his Lucanian tour in Matera, in Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
ELLY SCHLEIN he will not be with him, as announced a couple of days ago. She will appear on Thursday in Potenza, alongside Marrese. Who seems to gather more people at his initiatives than at Vito Bardi. The candidate from the broad camp appears stronger in the Matera area (in Matera there is a mayor from the 5 Star Movement) and is trying to catch up precisely in the Potenza area, where the mayor is from the League: four years ago he beat the candidate from Basilicata Possibile, the list linked to the political subject of Civati. In the capital we go back to the polls in June, together with the European elections, and Conte does not close the door to alliances: «Obviously we will make our assessments with those who were our traveling companions in these regional elections in an equal relationship». Pierluigi Bersani, in these parts in the last two days, puts forward the optimism of the will: «The agreement between the Democratic Party and the 5 Star Movement here in Basilicata holds – says the former Democratic secretary – It seems to me that the electoral campaign has made some steps forward and that people have understood and are understanding and therefore we are now very well on track. I saw a climate of recovery.”
THE THREE LEADERS of the right should be in Potenza on Friday. Meloni, Salvini and Tajani will have to close an electoral campaign in which the outgoing president has moved with the caution of those who feel they have the advantage. «Bardi only moves from his house in Posillipo when he has to welcome a minister of the Meloni government» they say from the center-left, citing a gag by the theater actor Ulderico Pesce, who for years has been staging the social stories of the Region. In fact, in dribs and drabs, practically all the ministers came (“Except Daniela Santanchè”, those of Marrese’s staff point out sarcastically). There was also the reform minister Elisabetta Casellati, who at the last political elections got herself re-elected to the senate in the single-member constituency of Potenza 1: she won easily, with the opposition divided. Yesterday it was the turn of the Minister of Education Giuseppe Valditara, who presented himself for a para-institutional ceremony in a comprehensive institute in Potenza, complete with camel troops also recruited from nursery school classes (and the aftermath of inevitable controversies over the use children’s instrumental).

Furthermore, the sensors in the area hiss, the former general of the Guardia di Finanza entrusts the gathering of consensus to the small army of his candidates: the seven lists of the right have a total of forty aspiring regional councilors more than the five (Pd, Basilicata casa municipality, Avs-Psi, Possible Basilicata, 5 Star Movement and united Basilicata) who support the centre-left contender.
